Bauxite is a refractory material made from bauxite ore through high-temperature calcination.
Its main component is aluminum oxide, which usually contains a certain proportion of impurities such as iron oxide and titanium dioxide. It is widely used in the production of refractory materials.
According to the different firing methods, it can be divided into: vertical kiln bauxite clinker and rotary kiln bauxite clinker
(1) High mechanical strength, wear resistance, strong compression and bending resistance;
(2) Excellent chemical stability and good corrosion resistance;
(3) Good thermal stability and excellent high temperature resistance;
(4) High wear resistance
(1) Refractory products: can be used to prepare refractory bricks, castables, lightweight refractory materials, bonded clay bricks, etc.
(2) Steel industry: Inner walls, insulation layers, furnace throats, kiln doors, feeding ports, smoke exhaust ports, etc. of smelting equipment such as steel kilns, converters, and electric arc furnaces.
(3) Metallurgical industry: Bauxite is used to manufacture high-temperature furnace linings, furnace linings and casting sand.
(4) Chemical industry: linings of high-temperature reactors, catalyst carriers and liners of various corrosion-resistant equipment.
(5) Electric power industry: in high-temperature equipment such as electric furnaces and glass melting furnaces.

Highland Refractory classifies Bauxite Aggregate by alumina content to match diverse needs: High-Alumina Bauxite Aggregate (Al₂O₃ ≥85%) suits high-temperature scenarios like refractory bricks for steel furnaces (withstanding 1700℃+); Medium-Alumina Bauxite Aggregate (65%-85% Al₂O₃) works for refractory castables in cement kilns; Low-Alumina Bauxite Aggregate (<65% Al₂O₃) is used in high-strength construction concrete. Each type undergoes strict impurity control to ensure consistent performance for its target application.
Highland’s Bauxite Aggregate has key strengths: its adjustable alumina content delivers tailored high-temperature resistance (1200-1700℃), avoiding deformation in harsh heat. It has low water absorption and high hardness, boosting the durability of end products (e.g., refractory bricks, concrete). With minimal impurities (e.g., low iron oxide), it maintains the chemical stability of mixed materials—making Bauxite Aggregate a reliable raw material for heat-resistant and structural applications.
Bauxite Aggregate is widely used across sectors: in metallurgy, it’s a core raw material for steel ladle castables and fire bricks, shielding equipment from molten metal; in construction, it’s mixed into bridge/industrial floor concrete to enhance load-bearing; in ceramics, it’s a filler for high-temperature ceramics to improve heat resistance; in glass manufacturing, it lines glass furnace refractories to ensure stable production.
Highland Refractory, with 30 years of refractory expertise, produces high-quality Bauxite Aggregate. We source premium bauxite ore, use advanced crushing-screening tech for uniform particle size, and test each batch for purity/heat resistance (meeting ISO 9001/CE).
