Malaysia NUF Power Group power plant, its boiler in the long-term operation process, due to high temperature, high pressure and various chemical corrosion and other factors, the life of refractory materials gradually shortened, frequent maintenance and replacement not only increased the cost, but also affected the normal production of the power plant. In order to solve this problem, the power plant decided to comprehensively upgrade and optimize the refractory materials.

Improve the service life of power plant boilers from the following aspects
1. Material upgrade
– Selection of high-performance refractory materials: a new type of high aluminum refractory is developed. This material has higher fire resistance, better erosion resistance and thermal stability, and can maintain good performance in high temperature environments.
– Increase the insulation layer: add a layer of insulation material on the outside of the refractory, such as aluminum silicate fiber felt, etc., effectively reduce the loss of heat, reduce the working temperature of the refractory, and extend its service life.
2. Optimize the design
– Improve the furnace structure: optimize the structure of the boiler furnace to reduce the flow resistance of materials and the erosion and wear of refractory materials. For example, a baffle is set at the outlet of the furnace to change the flow direction of the flue gas and reduce the impact on the refractory.
– Strengthen the protection of key parts: for parts that are prone to wear, such as cyclone separators and return devices, special wear-resistant refractory materials are used to locally strengthen them, improving the wear resistance and service life of these parts.
3. Construction quality control
– Construction in strict accordance with construction specifications: In the construction process of refractory materials, strict control of construction quality to ensure the accuracy and sealing of refractory materials. Adopt professional construction team and advanced construction equipment to ensure construction quality.
– Oven process optimization: reasonable development of oven program, strict control of oven temperature and time, so that refractories can fully dry and cure, improve its strength and stability.
Effect evaluation
After the implementation of the above measures, the refractory life of the power plant has been significantly improved. The specific performance is as follows:
1. Maintenance cycle extension: The original need to carry out a large-scale refractory maintenance every year, and now the maintenance cycle has been extended to more than two years, greatly reducing the number of maintenance and cost.
2. Improved operational stability: As the performance of refractory materials has been improved, the operational stability of the boiler has also been improved, reducing the shutdown accident caused by refractory damage, and improving the power generation efficiency of the power plant.
3. Significant economic benefits: By extending the life of refractory materials, reducing maintenance and replacement costs, while improving the production efficiency of the power plant, bringing significant economic benefits to the enterprise.
